Recovering After Gum Surgery

You will only be able to eat soft foods and must avoid the surgery area when brushing your teeth. Pain relievers can be used and you should limit physical activity and avoid smoking or alcohol consumption.

Scabs will start to fall off naturally. You will have a follow-up appointment with your dentist. It's time to start eating more normally but advised to eat nutritious meals. Still, avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Gently brush the surgical area.

Week
Avoid straining or hurting the area and start resuming your normal diet and lifestyle at your personal pace. Another follow-up appointment may be scheduled to provide additional guidance.

Week
You will return to your full oral hygiene routine, including brushing and flossing the surgical area, and should monitor for any changes or complications.
